Spring Swish

Swish is a set of four nomadic creations that seek to bring urban environments to life. Each of the four adaptations takes on the qualities of a different season.

Spring Swish is a site-specific piece, created for the Montreal Insectarium’s exhibit “Butterflies Go Free”. Inside a simulated habitat for diverse species of butterflies, guests of the Insectarium can walk around and discover the beauty of these creatures up close as the sun sets over the glass enclosure. Spring Swish is a study of the shapes and textures of the site, including the plantlife, insects and visitors. Honouring the whimsy and wonder evoked by the exhibit, five dancers become a part of its ecosystem, contributing grace and organic movement to their new habitat.

Original music by Christine ML Lee

Dancers: Gina Grant, Camille Trudel-Vigeant, Cara Roy, Ariane Famelart, Catherine Dagenais-Savard
